How to Switch – Electricity
How to Switch Your Electricity to Park Power
Everything you might want to know about switching.
Does someone need to come to your place to set up the switch? How does it actually happen?
No set-up work is required at your place, so nobody will be coming over to interrupt your day. We take care of the switch off-site and behind the scenes—no appointments, no hassles. All you need to do is fill out our Sign Up form.
Will your power get disconnected when you switch?
No. Your power won’t be disconnected or interrupted.
Will you have to pay any set-up fees?
No.
Are you moving? Planning to sign up with Park Power for your new place?
If so, be sure to contact your old provider and cancel service at your old place. If you don’t, you’ll keep being billed until someone else starts service there.
Got that done? Great job! Skip on down to our Electricity Sign Up Checklist.

Electricity Sign Up Checklist
- Pick a rate.
Look through our electricity rates and choose what works best for you.
- Pick a charity.
We share 10% of our electricity profits with Alberta charities. When you sign up, you get to choose which charity your bills will support. There’s no extra cost for you—this donation is on us! To learn about the charities you can choose from, check out our Community Partners program.
- Consider greening your power.
We’re helping Alberta get more renewable energy into the grid. We encourage you to learn more about our optional Green Power program and decide if you want to participate.
- Decide when you want to start service with Park Power.
Please sign up at least 7 days before the date you want to start service with us. On our Sign Up form, your start date is called Requested Service Date.
If you need to get enrolled sooner than 7 days, we can do it. Contact our Customer Support team at 780-640-2128 or customercare@parkpower.ca to make the enrolment happen sooner.
- Find your site ID or meter number… Or skip this one.
Our Sign Up form will ask you to provide one of these. They’re on your bill. But if you can’t find one, that’s okay. We’ll find it for you, and you can skip this part of the form.
- Prepare a void cheque or debit form for pre-authorized bank payments.
Our payment method is pre-authorized bank withdrawal, so we’ll need your banking details to seal the deal. You can upload a void cheque or pre-authorized debit form at the end of our online Sign Up form, or you can send it to us later.
- Head over to the Sign Up form and get it done!
